Grateful For Our Freedoms!
July 7, 2022
Huntington Court has been celebrating all kinds of different freedoms leading up to Independence Day! Independence means something a little different to us at Huntington Court, things we can all take for granted at times. We'd like to share some of these celebrations that have been taking place at our skilled nursing facility.
Starting with Ms. Darlene, one of our residents, who finally went home! She has been working so hard to get her independence back, working countless hours in therapy, doing tests, and conquering medical setbacks. On July 1st, she walked, not wheeled, out the front doors of Huntington Court!! She will now spend this Independence Day with her family at home. Darlene, your poems, beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and genuine soul will be missed dearly by us. However, we could not be happier and more proud of you! You put in the work and conquered your goal. We wish you many years of health and happiness!

To continue the freedom celebrations, we got our brand-new Huntington Court bus! Having it for just a few weeks, we've already been shopping, out to eat, picnicking at the park with all the fun outdoor games, and to the casino! We also celebrated the freedom that the UC health mobile mammogram bus gave us. They came right to our parking lot to make sure all of our residents and staff could get their annual mammograms.

However you celebrate your Independence Day this year, just make great memories! Whether it's a goal you've met that you've been working on for years or just a few days, celebrate that. If it's getting together with loved ones to share time or a meal, celebrate that. If it's taking some time to yourself and relaxing, celebrate it. If it's remembering the little victories you've had along the way this year, those deserve a celebration. If you can walk to your mailbox or run a 5k, both deserve a celebration. We hope everyone can take time this Independence Day and celebrate every freedom you are afforded!
Last, but certainly not least, thank you to every Armed Forces member and their families for your sacrifices! Every man and woman serving or that has served our country, we thank you the most. None of this would be possible without every one of you. From our Huntington Court family to yours, happy Independence Day to all! May each of you have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!
