Huntington Court's Annual Trunk-or-Treat
October 29, 2024
Huntington Court recently celebrated its beloved Annual Trunk-or-Treat event, a tradition that has brought joy to our residents for over 20 years. Since before COVID-19, we hosted classic trick-or-treating, where residents would sit in their doorways, handing out candy just like at home. In 2020, however, the pandemic required us to adapt, and though unable to host trick-or-treaters, we held an internal celebration to keep the Halloween spirit alive. By 2021, our tradition transformed into a safe trunk-or-treat, complete with festive trunk decorations and adorable costumes, ensuring residents could still enjoy this special time.
This year’s standout trunks included a Jurassic Park car by Sherry, our Director of Environmental Services, complete with dinosaur sounds—and a “live” dinosaur played by Sherry herself! Nurse Kristin turned her car into Old McDonald’s Farm, a hit with all ages. Another highlight was the Haunted Huntington House! Our Activity Department transformed the dining room into a spook-tacular haunted house, staffed by residents and community volunteers, some of whom grew up attending this event as trick-or-treaters and now contribute to the fun as actors.
Huntington Court’s Halloween event is more than just candy—it’s a cherished tradition of fun, community, and lasting memories with friends and families. It’s heartwarming to see residents, staff, and local families coming together, laughing, and celebrating. We hope you’ll join us at our next event and become part of the Huntington Court family—one visit, and you’ll want to return every time!
