The Heart of Activities at Huntington Court

With so many holidays and special events over the past several months, we wanted to take a moment to highlight the true impact of a strong Activity Department in nursing facilities. At Huntington Court, we go beyond just filling time—we create meaningful experiences that enrich the lives of our residents in body, mind, and spirit.



A common misconception is that activities are simply games and entertainment, but they are so much more than that. Our Activity Department is dedicated to enhancing overall well-being through programs that promote physical movement, mental engagement, spiritual connection, and emotional fulfillment. Activities provide:

• A sense of purpose
• Opportunities for socialization
• Physical exercise
• Spiritual well-being
• Educational experiences
• Continuation of lifelong hobbies
• Opportunities to explore new interests

One of the most highly anticipated parts of our program is outings and field trips. Getting out into the community not only provides a change of scenery, but also fosters connection and involvement beyond our facility walls. Likewise, intergenerational activities bring so much joy and energy, as residents love engaging with children, and younger generations benefit from these meaningful interactions.

We also understand that not everyone enjoys group activities—and that’s okay! Our Activity Department provides personalized, one-on-one experiences tailored to individual interests, ensuring that every resident feels engaged and valued in a way that suits them best.

While a high-stakes game of Bingo will always be a resident favorite, our activity calendar is so much more than "just games." Every event, every gathering, and every moment of joy is carefully planned to create a well-rounded, fulfilling experience for our residents.

We are so grateful to have an Activity Department that understands the importance of their role and consistently goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Friends and family are always welcome to join in the fun, and we love hearing new ideas and suggestions for activities or places to visit!
