No Tricks, Just Treats!
November 2, 2022
Happy Halloween from Huntington Court! We have thoroughly enjoyed our month leading up to this spooky holiday! We've been doing all the fall things, with our trip to Hueston Woods taking the cake on our favorite fall trip. We enjoyed taking in all the pretty fall sights and smells. We also went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse because you can never go wrong with that trip, no matter what month it is! We've made and eaten all the fall snacks and drinks we could think of. We also made cute fall crafts and decorated pumpkins.
We went out with a bang this month with our annual Trunk-or-Treat! We worked hard for weeks getting all the candy collected and organized to pass out. This year, our Activity Department went all out and made a new addition to our event; a haunted house! We started the day off with our staff and residents getting in their costumes and having a costumes contest, along with some Halloween treats to hold us over. Then we went through the haunted house, which was awesome! We voted on the best jack-o-lantern and headed out to our Trunk-or-Treat.

This is always a favorite event for everyone involved. The staff is so creative in decorating their trunks. Our 1st place winner was Jessie with her Nightmare Before Christmas-themed trunk. There were so many good ones, including a pirate ship, Candy Land, Harry Potter, Monster Mash, a scary pumpkin patch, and the list goes on! The best part for our residents was seeing all the kids come through in their costumes and getting to pass out candy to them. We got to see the staff's children, residents' grandbabies, as well as the kids from our community. Each one was dressed to impress in their costumes!
We had over 100 children attend the event this year, and our residents stayed around to pass out candy until the last kid came through. The residents that felt too cold to be outside lined up in the lobby and hallways so they could still see all the fun.
All of our big events are always open to the public. We love being so involved in our local community and spreading our Culture of Care beyond our facility walls. We hope everyone had a great October, just like we did at Huntington Court! Wishing everyone a happy Halloween!
